A New Paradigm Shift is Needed in Recovery

We’ve all heard the phrase “It takes a village to raise a child.” And some say that it takes a village to help an addict — but the problem is that the majority have no clue how to do that. For a child, most people know the basics of how to raise a child, so they can all come from a well-known perspective.

But not so for how to help someone struggling with an addiction.

What would society look like if more people are on the same page on how to help an addict recover and build an awesome future? The person struggling with an addiction would learn a proven, step-by-step process to get out of their addiction, never relapse, and live a fulfilled life.

The loved ones and friends would also learn this process so they can influence the addict on how to change, thus providing solid hope to have long-lasting life transformation. (They can also use this same roadmap to help them transform areas in their own lives that need up-leveling.)

Also, professional counselors, social workers, addiction coaches, life coaches, church leaders, prison ministries, Christian ministries, and leaders in rehab facilities and sober homes would understand this process and use it to influence the addict for change.

Oh, by the way, this same process can be used to help people struggling in other life situations: depression, anxiety, anger, emotional blockages, uncontrolled emotions, P.T.S.D., hopelessness, drifting in life, etc.

While some may balk at this process because it is biblically based, it needs to be stated that biblical principles work, whether or not a person has a personal relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. But things can sure change a lot quicker if a person has this relationship.
